Outreach and Missions

A part of our vision at RLC is to “reach the nations of the world through missions.” We believe that has a local and an international expression.

Lean On Me Outreach Center

We minister to the local community through Lean on Me Outreach Center which is a benevolence ministry supplying the needs of over 1,600 families in our area. Lean on Me takes whatever God places in our hands, whether it’s food, clothing, furniture, vehicles, house wares, or homes and places it in the hands of people in need.

International Missions

Resurrection Life Church Rockford supports a number of missionaries around the world through various organizations.

Mission Trips

We train and send teams of people on short term mission trips at least once or twice a year through an organization called One Hope.

Missions Of The Month

One Hope (Book of Hope)

OneHope USA

What?

OneHope (formerly known as the Book of Hope) makes the message of the Bible available to the world's children in their own language and in a way that addresses their unique cultural challenges. Since 1987, OneHope has utilized local programs, its Book of Hope publication and The GodMan animated film to reach some 650 million children with the message that God loves them.

  • Book of Hope - Translated into some 90 languages and hand-delivered in 125 countries, the Book of Hope is an interactive, Bible-based children's publication customized with culturally specific images, games, family activities and stories.
  • The GodMan - According to UNESCO, one in five people in the world - approximately 1 billion - cannot read. Translated into some 50 languages, more than 38 million children have attended hosted showings of OneHope's animated movie about the life of Jesus, The GodMan, and hundreds of millions more children have watched The GodMan on television.

How?

OneHope understands there is no carbon copy culture. To better address the unique needs of children and youth in specific regions, OneHope conducts outcome-based research on local children and faith practices to customize its programs, Book of Hope publication and to strategically select local partners.

  • In Latin America, the Book of Hope deals with the prevalent issue of bullying and low self-esteem. The story uses the regionally popular sport of soccer to help kids understand that their worth is not dependent on what others think of them but on the truth that God loves them.
  • In a special Book of Hope for Native American youth, issues of worry, loneliness, rejection and peer pressure are addressed with relevant, Bible-based answers.
  • In Thailand's Book of Hope, OneHope is addressing issues related to child prostitution and self esteem.

Who?

OneHope has worked with thousands of partners and volunteers-public health officials, national departments of education, relief organizations, local churches and Christian organizations-to reach some 650 million children to date.

  • After seeing the behavioral impact at just one school in Russia, the Minister of Education requested that OneHope provide its Book of Hope to every school child in the country.
  • In Swaziland, OneHope has partnered with local churches, government programs and officials and other NGOS to confront cultural issues - crime, violence, mistrust, lack of education - in a holistic way.
